What Web Costs

Where these numbers come from

Every ballpark on this site comes from a real price that a web firm posted on its own website.

Firms post prices

Many web firms list their prices on their own websites.

Web Price Index collects them

Web Price Index gathers those prices and links each one to its source. It adds new prices every week.

We round them

This site takes the middle price and rounds it to a ballpark you can remember.

Lean, Typical, and Fancy

Line up every price for one service from low to high.

Typical is the price in the middle. Half the prices are lower. Half are higher.

Lean is lower. 1 in 4 prices is lower than Lean.

Fancy is higher. 1 in 4 prices is higher than Fancy.

A service shows up here only when it has 5 or more prices.

Rounded to a ballpark

Under $100, we round to the nearest $5. Under $1,000, to the nearest $50. Under $10,000, to the nearest $100. Above that, to the nearest $500. That is why every number says "about."

Other currencies

The prices start in US dollars. When you pick another currency, the site uses today's exchange rate from Frankfurter, a free rate service. Then it rounds again.

Updated every week

The ballparks refresh every Sunday. Right now they come from 126prices. The newest is from October 26, 2026.

Your numbers stay with you

The rent, time, and sales numbers you type stay in your own browser. They never go to a server. A link you copy holds your picks, your level, and your currency, and never your own numbers. The Clear my numbers button wipes them.
